Ristorante Calzavecchio

One of the oldest premises of Casalecchio, visited by celebrities such as the poet Giosuè Carducci and thus included in the list of historical shops.

After the Second World War, the restaurant and hotel was rebuilt. Recently completely renovated, it re-opened in September 2013. It offers dishes that are a refined version of the typical Bolognese cuisine and seafood dishes.

The hotel website says that the reception activity has existed for about 400 years. Originally called “Osteria dei Calza”, in the 17th century it was a inn with stabling, that offered good wine, food and rest for those who came down from the mountains to reach Bologna, or viceversa.

The premises is also accreditated as Bottega Storica (historical shop), that is to say historical shop of Provincia di Bologna, qualification awarded to the activities in life for over 50 years, as a precious witness of the past and of the local traditions.
