The Tizzano Farm is situated on the hill slopes of Casalecchio di Reno, immersed in the production area of the Colli bolognesi wines (Bologna's Hills).
The farm is surrounded by a wide park where the historical residence of the Marescalchi familiy also rises, today inherited by the Modrone Viscounts.
As the family had a close relationship with France (Ferdinando Marescalchi was Napoleone's Foreign Minister), French grape varieties were planted here in the last century (Pinot, Cabernet, Sauvignon).
Established in 1961, the farm is surrounded by a 35-hectare vineyard planted with Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pignoletto, Pinot Bianco, Riesling Italico and Sauvignon grape varieties.
All these wines are recognized as CDO (Controlled Denomination of Orgin) Colli Bolognesi Winesby European Union and the farm is part of the namesake consortium, housed in the Abbey of Monteveglio, a town located in the Bologna province.
The farm offers visitors the following services:
- wine purchase
- wine tasting
- guided tours to the vineyard
