Gaggio Montano
The Apennine Cycling Route is one of the most significant routes in the area, starting right from the town of Gaggio Montano and reaching Barberino del Mugello in Tuscany.
This stretch of about 80 km is just one part of a much more extensive route, along the entire ridge of the Apennines, which runs in 44 stages, for 3100 km, affecting 26 parks and protected areas and crossing 14 Italian regions from Liguria to the Madonie Mountains in Sicily.
The Apennine Cycling Route aims to map and mark the entire route through secondary roads along the Apennines. It also aims to create rest stops, strengthen the receptivity of the municipalities involved, and provide information points and facilities for bicycle rental and repair.
A great project of sustainable and experiential tourism, it is supported by Vivi Appennino and Ascom Confcommercio, with the support of the Ministry of the Environment, aims to develop the area's services related to cycling tourism and enhance mountain villages.
