A real prehistoric park in San Lazzaro di Savena, a spectacular exhibition located inside the Parco della Resistenza, capable of giving children and families (but not only) a "prehistoric" experience among life-size dinosaurs.
In the Dinosaurs in flesh and bones park you can admire 33 models, some truly gigantic, which tell the story and evolution of life on Earth. The most famous Mesozoic reptiles, such as the T-rex and the Spinosaurus, and the species who lived in Italy such as the Italian dinosaur cub “Scipionyx”, better known by the nickname "Ciro", the Tethyan hadrosaurid and "Tito" the Titanosaurus.
There is no shortage of reconstructions of prehistoric mammals, which allows the path of the Park to intertwine with the exhibition of the nearby Museum of Prehistory Luigi Donini, dedicated to fossil remains and reconstructions of animals who used to live in the Bologna area, as well as human evolution. The combination of the reconstructions of the Park with those of the Donini Museum, the exhibition centre of San Lazzaro di Savena, which represents of over 50 species, offers the richest prehistoric park in Italy.
The visit route, set up in chronological order, immerses the fauna in a suggestive natural setting: a real botanical garden with nowadays' trees and shrubs that send the visitor back to very remote times. The behaviour and posture of these creatures are the result of an in-depth study by palaeontologists, combined with the talent of the paleoartists who carefully made the models.
The park is home to a rich educational project aimed at all schools, which offers educational and recreational activities, guided tours, excursions in the area and workshops tailored to different age groups.
