The forest museum is located in Poranceto (Baigno), set up in a historic building surrounded by a wonderful chestnut grove.
The exhibition itinerary includes various sections: Installation on the ground floor dedicated to the most frequent types of forest found in the Apennines: oak, chestnut, beech and conifer reforestation. The botanical, vegetational and silvicultural aspects are explored in depth. Diorama dedicated to the relationship between forest and animals On the floor below there is the section dedicated to the relationship between man and the forest: historical development, traditional management of the forest resource (production of wood and coal) and in-depth analysis of chestnut cultivation.
The route is also suitable for children, management is entrusted to the Eastern Emilia Parks Authority.
