The MARTE Museum in Monzuno was born from the joint effort of the administration and artist (and exhibition curator) Letizia Rostagno.
The project began as a cataloging of works donated to the municipality over the years by numerous artists who lived, worked, or simply passed through Monzuno: for example, Ilario Rossi (remembered each year by a prize dedicated to him), Nino Bertocchi, Mario Nanni, Sergio Tisselli, and many others.
The number of works catalogued was truly remarkable: some were already on display in certain rooms of the town hall, but for many others the inevitable fate seemed to be returning to the archives. To prevent them from falling into oblivion, however, the decision was made to display them throughout the town hall, so that they could be accessed by anyone who, for one reason or another, visits the offices.
The MARTE Museum is an innovative collection of public art. To visit the collection and receive more information, please call 338 5055363.
