"La Martina" Park is located a few kilometers from the town of Monghidoro, in the heart of the Upper Idice Valley.
It is a wooded area recognized as a SCI (Site of Community Importance) because of the delicate biodiversity that inhabits it, both in terms of flora and fauna. Within the park stretches a vast network of trails, which can be traveled both on foot and by mountain bike, two perfect ways to totally immerse yourself in the green woods.
"La Martina" also holds a few surprises: a trek will take you to the entrance of a small copper mine, which cannot be visited but is very fascinating, while thanks to other trails you may come across an evocative work of Land Art, "Il Soffione."
This is an art installation created as part of the birth of the "Bologna Montana Art Trail," a long trail (about a hundred kilometers!) to be traveled in stages, discovering as you go all the works that populate it: a huge wolf, a large wild boar, San Giorgio killing the Dragon and a modern wooden installation along the Via degli Dei. All the works are made from natural materials in keeping with the Land Art philosophy.
