The Felsina Astronomical Observatory represents a fascinating place for lovers of astronomy and science. Located at an altitude of 651 meters between Medelana and Monte Pastore, in the municipality of Monte San Pietro (Bologna), it is part of the UNESCO “Astronomy material heritage”. Opened in 1999, the observatory consists of two separate structures: a Specola and a Library. During guided tours conducted between April and October, the public has the opportunity to observe major astronomical objects through the 400 mm f/5 Newton telescope.
Managed by the Associazione Astrofili Bolognesi, the observatory is open to the public according to an annual schedule, with a focus on the summer period. Guests can also enjoy an introduction to celestial orientation, enriching their understanding of the night sky while increasing scientific popularization and interest in astronomy.
