Sasso Marconi
Vizzano bridge came into being thanks to the petition of a schoolteacher so that her pupils could reach their schools by crossing the Reno even in adverse weather conditions.
Work on the construction of the bridge began in 1926.
Before that time, crossing from one side of the river to the other was possible thanks to the work of "passers," boatmen who transported people and goods by taking advantage of the Reno's easiest spots. For this very reason, before the construction of the bridge, the locality of Vizzano was called "Barca" ("boat").
Today, Vizzano bridge, renovated in 1994, can also be crossed by car, however it has not lost its image as a narrow somewhat "rickety" passage over the river.
