The San Rocco Oratory was built in 1631 to house the papier-mache statues of the Saints Rocco and Sebastiano, who are said to have stopped the spread of the plague outbreak of 1630, which killed 23000 Bolognese inhabitants and 18000 in the Provinces. The whole area was severely affected by the plague of 1630, and it is said that the plague victims, by then close to death, so as not to be contagious to others, went to the field below the village, dug a pit and lay down in it to await the end. Having resolved to purchase the two statues, they were brought to Vidiciatico and, as they arrived there, the plague ceased; in memory of this event every year, on August 1, the Feast of the Vow is held.
The exterior of the church features a beautiful portico supported by local sandstone columns, with original wooden beams, and a beautiful bell gable, the only example in the area. The interior has a single cell and rectangular plan; there is a statue of the Madonna del Rosario and two ancient paintings: one depicts a pope with a monk, the other Madonna del Loreto with saints Pietro, Giovanni, Rocco and Sebastiano.
Recently a fresco depicting a male figure standing in a niche was brought to light, which probably dates back to the building's construction period (1631), although it has some late Gothic elements. Because of the presence of a book and a staff, this figure is assumed to represent San Giacomo Maggiore in pilgrim garb.
