Very recently established, the Cycle route "delle Valli Bolognesi" is a route of about 150km designed to connect the three major paths that cross the territory of the Savena, Idice and Zena Valleys: the Flaminia Minor, the Via del Fantini and the Via Mater Dei.
Thanks to this itinerary designed especially for cyclists, it will be possible to touch and visit the major points of interest found on the three paths, such as the Botroidi Museum in Tazzola, the sanctuary of Monte delle Formiche, and the caves and gullies of the Croara area. The Ciclovia delle Valli Bolognesi is suitable for mountain bikes, especially electric ones: the route passes over mixed terrain, asphalt, cart-track and dirt (in case of rain, caution is advised, as the clay soil of the chalks can become very sticky).
If you are a MTB lover, this loop trail is definitely recommended, as it will allow you (in two or more stages) to visit all the major historical and naturalistic highlights of the Savena, Idice and Zena valleys.
