Pianoro
In the center of the small hamlet of Tazzola, at the foot of Monte delle Formiche, in the municipality of Pianoro, since 2008 an old stable has housed a unique exhibition itinerary that includes a synthesis of the geological aspects of the Val di Zena.
Plasters, sandstones, fossils, Pliocene yellow sands, ancient oceanic muds and a large collection of Botroids (particular forms of conglutinated sands) are the protagonists of this place where geology, zoology and local history alternate and are integrated in a unique cultural discourse.
A journey lasting 80 million years takes place in just a few square meters, where you get to know the figure of Luigi Fantini, a scholar of fundamental importance for the Bolognese area, and "his" Val di Zena with everything that surrounds it: not just geology , but also speleology, paleontology, stories and legends.
The basic idea of the exhibition is to make the Val di Zena a real "Geotactile Park", where the visitor touches the minerals and fossils.
Adults and children can thus work with their own hands millenary sands and rocks using techniques belonging to the men of the Paleolithic.
