The Abbey of Saints Fabian and Sebastian, a complex of very ancient origins, is located in the locality of Badia, nearly 10 kilometers from Calderino and at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level.
In a journey through the Benedictine abbeys of the Bologna area, this complex with its medieval flavor cannot be missed. It consists of a group of buildings, some of a civilian nature (tower) and others clearly of a religious origin (church, monastery, and cloister), which stands on the path of an ancient road linking Tolè and Bologna. The construction techniques and especially the typically medieval reuse of ornamental materials from the late antique period date the church to around the 12th - 13th century, with a renovation in the 15th century.
Inside the church, the Museum of the Badia del Lavino has been set up, with its exhibition path narrating both the history of the church and that of the territory, especially from the perspective of peasant labor.
