A beautiful and historic palace overlooking the town's main square, Pepoli Palace, or "Palace of the Ragione" was built in the late 15th century and enlarged between the 16th and 18th centuries.
It owes its name to the family that was in control of the territory of Castiglione dei Pepoli from 1340 to 1796 and that, with ups and downs, ruled these areas in an authoritarian manner.
Pepoli Palace, the seat of government, maintained its function during both the Napoleonic and Papal State periods. Its majestic impact has always made clear what the center of the town was.
Home to the municipal offices, it houses on the ground floor a small museum concerning the town.
