Savigno is located in the western Bolognese Apennines, and is partly in the valley of the Samoggia river; its territory lies on the border with the province of Modena and includes the first part of the Venola river.
The territory of Savigno is particularly famous for white truffles, which are very precious and delicious. In autumn the white truffle becomes the protagonist of the local traditional gastronomy. Between the end of October and the beginning of November, the "Tartòfla" is held, a gastronomic festival dedicated precisely to this precious food.
Worthy of mention are the oratory dedicated to S. Matteo, which was built in 1863, and the monument celebrating the 1843 Carbonari uprisings, which was made by the artist Tullio Golfarelli.
