The Museum "della Terra e del Sole" is located inside the Torretta di Bargi, an ancient watchtower dating back to the 17th century situated on the top of the hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Suviana Lake and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
Once owned by the Comelli family, the tower bears the date 1621 on the rafters of one window, testifying to its long history. This charming place was originally used as a tool shelter, bivouac and dovecote. Today, the Torretta di Bargi is a key information point on the territory's sundials and understanding of local geology. Notable features include a vertical sundial with Italic bell tower hours on its southeastern front, dating back to the 17th-18th centuries and restored just a decade ago. In addition, a horizontal anthropogenic sundial on the ground offers visitors the opportunity to interact with the clock, becoming an integral part of a stimulating educational experience for adults and children, promoting curiosity and observation.
