"Paolo Guidotti" Culture Center

Right in the center of Castiglione dei Pepoli, the "Paolo Guidotti" Culture Center represents one of the most important cultural hubs in the Bolognese Apennines.

Opened in 2014, it includes the municipal library, meeting rooms, spaces for young people and exhibition halls dedicated to the culture, history and nature of the Castiglionese territory.

The "Sala delle Origini" is dedicated to objects and human settlement in the territory from the Medieval Age to the Contemporary Age, the "Sala della Terra" presents an exceptional display of artifacts from distant geological eras, and takes us back to the origins of the Bolognese Apennines, the "Rural World and its Trades" room is dedicated to traditional Apennine crafts, the trades of the past, and the life and objects of everyday life of the mountain dwellers. Finally, the "South African War Memorial" part with rich documentation on the action of South African troops during World War II on the Apennine battlefields as well as on the Gothic Line.
