Near Cereglio, in the charming village of Pieve di Roffeno, stands the ancient parish church of San Pietro, which preserves the layout of rural Romanesque architecture dating back to the 12th century. Over the course of the Baroque era, it underwent various renovations that partly modified its structure, but some elements of the ancient church have remained intact, including the splendid decorated apse made of opus quadratum by skilled masters from Como, valuable capitals and a defense tower dating back to the 14th century.
Inside the church you can admire an important baptismal font, of Lombard style and dated around the 7th century, probably belonging to the pre-existing church. The sandstone basin is decorated with a crown of dolphins, with clear symbolic meanings. Also of special interest are some frescoes dating from the 17th century.
