The work, inaugurated in 2019 and placed in front of the Vergato Railway Station, seems to be an artistic representation rich in symbolism and references to the surrounding area, as well as a testament to Maestro Ontani's art.
The choice of materials, such as bronze, and the arrangement of elements such as the Faun, Cupid, and Triton, seem to create a unique fusion of mythology, local symbolism, and artistic creativity. The Faun, symbolizing the Reno river, and Cupid, representing the Vergatello stream, together with the Triton, embodiment of the Apennines, create a composition that is inspired by mythological creatures, embracing the local area. Finally, the egg supporting the Triton and alluding to the Montovolo, surrounded by the snake Auroboros, contributes to the connection between local mythology and the surrounding landscape, further enriching the symbolic meaning of the work.
