In the heart of the town of Monghidoro, it is possible to walk under the stone arches of the ancient Olivetan monastery cloister, dating back to 1528, which has become a true symbol of this place over the years.
The cloister is located in the historic center of the town and is commonly called "della cisterna", since the monks had built a cistern (still visible) suitable for recovering rainwater but especially for making it drinkable, thanks to a filtering system between pieces of coal. The charm of the cloister is such that it is often chosen as a location for demonstrations and events, among the most interesting of which we point out the summer festival of "Cistern Concerts".
