Lizzano In Belvedere
Rocca Corneta is a small village which belongs to the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere, but in the past it was independent for a long time.
At the time of the feud of Nonantola, Rocca Corneta was part of the 'Masa di Lizano', then municipalities started to grow and it became independent, while other villages gathered into the municipality of Belvedere.
In 1513 Rocca Corneta was reunited in the parish of Lizzano in the territory of Belvedere, which Pope Leone X assigned to the Bolognese count Galeazzo Castelli.
The village was autonomous from 1532 to 1798 and then became part of the municipality of Belvedere.
Rocca Corneta has several interesting buildings on its territory, such as the parish church dedicated to San Martino of Tours (built before the XVI century) and a very well preserved XIV century tower.
