Lizzano is strongly marked by its history and is home to some unmissable historical jewels. In particular, the "Delùbro" or the "Rotunda," a small temple of pre-Romanesque origin with oriental architectural influences. This small temple is the oldest intact monument in the province of Bologna, and its architecture is a reminder of a fascinating past.

In the surrounding area, it is possible to find several shrines, two of which were erected to commemorate apparitions of the Madonna: the Sanctuary of Madonna dell'Acero and the Sanctuary of Madonna del Faggio, significant places that attest the deep spirituality and historical devotion of this region.
